Welcome to the world as seen through our eyes.
That is if you had one big 17.5” eye and your retina just happened to be a 512 x 512 cooled ccd.
A 16 ' id cement block building with a 12 ' fully rotating aluminum dome, houses a 17.5 " Newtonian telescope with support electronics. The observatory accommodates groups of twelve.
Saturday programs designed to expose area residents to basic science and astronomy are provided, at no charge, on a regular basis. Although programs are available for adults, emphasis is placed on a younger audience. Elementary school groups, third grade and above, enjoy views of the planets and bright stars. Activities are presented in cooperation with area science teachers. Children's groups must be accompanied by at least three adults.
